Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1. { Sick, sick baby } My poor little baby was sick for a good 2 weeks. At first we thought it was just a common cold and after his fever continuously to sky rocket we finally took him to the hospital. Poor little one had an ear infection waiting to be treated. Thank God we finally knew what was wrong. For a week he was on antibiotics, and my little one was still recovering in this picture. It was so heartbreaking watching my baby so helpless and weak. It was even harder as his parents not having the ability to do much, but comfort him.

2. { Lost weight } During the time frame that Ryu was sick he had lost so much of his cute little baby fat. To top off the fact that by being sick he really didn’t want to eat anything not even snacks. Now that Ryu’s recovering slowly but surely he’s eating little by little. He’s being picky and he’s eating junk, but I’m just glad he’s eating something rather than nothing at all.

3. { Games } We took Ryu to Chuck E Cheese for his Uncle Nick’s 3rd Birthday (Yes, he has an uncle that’s 3). He enjoyed going around and he just looked absolutely amazed about being in an arcade. It was so cute to watch him just try and babble his way through trying to communicate about which games he liked.

Happy Birthday Ninong Roland (Godfather)

Happy Birthday Ninong (Godfather) Roland!! He’s finally 27! We’re thankful that we got invited to his dinner and of course we had to bring the little munchkin with us. We went to a buffet and boy did Ryu eat a whole bunch! I’m so proud of him because he actually enjoyed all the different types of food that I was feeding him. He thoroughly enjoyed some sauteed mushrooms which happens to be mommy’s favorite as well!

That evening Ryu and I came from a previous engagement with his other Godparent. Ryu just had a blast roaming around with other children so going to dinner with our friends was a change in the environment for him. He loves all our friends and therefore, he ran around like crazy with tons of smiles and kisses. I’m very glad Ryu isn’t the type of child that doesn’t easily get scared off by people. I mean at the same time that can be a bad thing, so we’ll just have to teach him about strangers, lol.

Here are a couple pictures taken by his Ninong Jay (http://jayjayn.com).

Outfit:

Long sleeved undershirt from Target

Roll up plaid button down from H&M

Cargo Pants from Baby G.A.P

Beige snow boots from Baby G.A.P

I noticed that my baby isn’t quite a baby anymore. He’s more of a growing little boy, and eventually he’ll be a man. I can’t believe how fast time is flying by. He’s all about them big boy clothes and shoes! To top off the fact that he’s just sporting a really short boy cut. Ahh, he’s growing up way too fast!

Behind.

I’ve been behind on posting on here and I feel so bad. I feel like I could’ve at least put some effort in posting a picture a day or something. However, I’ve just really been busy with this month. There has been tons of birthdays and dinners to go to that I’m still trying to catch up with the pictures. I’ve made tons of effort to take pictures of Ryu every other day or at least a couple days a week. My friends have also taken pictures of Ryu, but of course they lag giving me any pictures since they feel like they have edit it first before anything.

My birthday was last week and I just wanted to share a small outting my friends and I had before my birthday. They took me out to lunch with Ryu and then off we strolled around Chinatown. I didn’t get many pictures throughout the day, but I’ll share with you the pictures I have of Ryu and I. It was such such a nice small birthday lunch that I felt like I got to just spend time with some of my favorite people and of course my one and only love life at the moment.

To be honest I don’t think I could’ve spent my whole birthday week. My friends definitely made it such a great experience for me this year. I also enjoyed the fact that Ryu is more than a year old now and so he can walk and just enjoy life around him with me. I absolutely love that I got to spend my first year without having to go out with just my friends and drink all night for my birthday. I think this is the first year that’s made me truly realize that I’m definitely a mother now and all I want is to spend as much time with my son. Ryu definitely made my life so much more worth living. He’s definitely the apple to my eyes and I don’t think I’ve ever felt so much more blessed in my life.

I had such a good time just just spending quality time with friends and my little man. I can’t wait til next year and I’m hoping to get even better quality pictures by then. I love you little man and than you for making my birthday experience this year much more spiritual and emotionally mind boggling for me.

Nanay’s Birthday (Great Grandmother)

I definitely want to greet my grandmother (Ryu’s great grandmother) a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! Actually her birthday landed on a Friday evening and she pretty much just wanted a bunch of her church friends to come over our apartment and have a little get together. She wasn’t expecting much really nor did she want much, but to just spend time with her family and close friends. It was actually not bad having a good group of around 20 people over with tons of food and company. Honestly, I didn’t really do much gathering, I ate and then headed for our room. I know I’m probably a party pooper, but I was tired and well it was just getting way too loud for me.

They all absolutely loved Ryu! I’m glad they did because Ryu was literally everywhere trying to talk to everyone (well mostly babble) and just be his sweet, wholesome self. When I was younger I thought to myself I hope that one day I’ll have children while my grandparents are still around. I pray to God everyday for their health, safety, and just for them in general. They’ve been a really big part of my life and I couldn’t ask for better grandparents.  I also want them actively involved in Ryu’s life. They’ve always been involved in my childhood they practically raised me and took care of me which is why I dearly love them. They’re also very good with children and well I trust Ryu with them with all my heart. It’s funny because when Ryu was born and had a couple minor complications they would teach me how to deal with the situation the old school way.

So once again I wanted to greet my grandmother a happy 79th birthday. I’m very thankful for having the family I have in my life. They’re very supportive of me having Ryu at such a young age. I’m fortunate because a lot of parents and grandparents can be difficult in accepting their children or grandchildren having kids at such a young age. They’ve been very supportive since day one and I won’t lie at times they can get difficult and get on my case, but I know it’s because they care about me. I’m also glad that they absolutely love Ryu like no tomorrow. I hope that Ryu gets to truly experience them and their love (understanding who they are really) when he’s much older. I hope that they live long enough to see Ryu really grow up. They’re seriously such a big part of my life and I’d love for them to be a big part of Ryu’s as well. I know Ryu loves them even if he can’t say it just yet.

Ryu’s 1st Birthday

Ryu’s birthday lands on July 28. However, we decided to go on and celebrate his birthday on 2 occasions. We opted to have his birthday dinner at our favorite Pho place with close friends and family. We then decided to throw him his 1st birthday party at the same park I had my baby shower at (Lake Balboa Park).

At the pho place Ryu had pho broth and vegetables from his dad’s chicken fried rice. What I absolutely love about Ryu is that he’s not much of a picky eater. You can sort of let him try anything and he’ll try it and eat it. I mean of course there are some things he doesn’t enjoy eating, but for a kid at his age I’m glad that’s he’s not super picky.

I still need to upload the rest of the pictures. I thought that I had uploaded them on to FB, but I guess I haven’t done so. Honestly, I also realized that not all my images are watermarked, but that’s cause I just upload them on to FB. Btw, thanks to all our friends who showed up to Ryu’s birthday dinner last minute. It probably wasn’t the best dinner, but he was having an actual birthday party so this was just for something we can enjoy as a family.

Ryu’s Birthday Party

Ryu had his 1st birthday party at Lake Balboa Park (where we had my baby shower at). This time around we were able to reserve for a bungalow which made things a bit easier for us. We even decided to rent a cotton candy machine, jumper, and shaved ice machine. I thought that it was actually pretty awesome that we were able to afford all that for Ryu. Thanks to the help of my grandparents, sister, and mother we were able to do it all. I was very pleased with how Ryu’s birthday turned out.

Our theme for his birthday was Pixars “UP”. I tried my best to try finding an outfit that almost resembled Russel’s outfit in the movie. Unfortunately, Ryu didn’t have short hair at the time nor could I find a costume or badges for his birthday outfit. I even tried finding him a backpack just cause Russell had one. This was the closest I got, haha. He had a hat too, but he kept taking it off, lol.

Again, thanks to Ninong Roland for taking pictures. I also wanted to compliment and thanks to Tita Melanie for baking Ryu’s awesome cake.

I loved Ryu’s birthday it was a huge turnout. I just wanted to say a very big thank you to my family and friends that helped us out. I really enjoyed setting everything up for Ryu even if it was a little bit hectic. It was a nice big birthday bash for Ryu’s 1st event. I’m hoping to do something like this when he’s a bit older. I’m hoping to do something like this when he’s 5 when he can actually tell me what he wants to do for his birthday party and invite his set of friends. Otherwise, next year we’re probably just going to take him to Disneyland.
